About the College:
The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest of seven Colleges at the University. The College was created in 2007 as part of the University’s broad restructure to maintain its position in the top 20 of the world’s universities and the top-ranked university in the Asia-Pacific region. The College intends to set national and international standards in research, education and community engagement across its three platforms: humanities, creative arts and social sciences.

A Summer Research Scholarship at The Australian National University is an exceptional research opportunity for high achieving undergraduate (typically third year) and honours students, providing an insight into what studying for an honours or a graduate research degree is all about. The Summer Research Scholarships at the ANU provides you with an opportunity to work with leading scholars and research projects in your area of interest. Scholarships are available for students from all Australian and New Zealand universities.
Scholarship Inclusions: A Summer Research Scholarship at the ANU includes:
1. Accommodation and main meal in a residential college campus
2. A weekly allowance
3. Return travel to Canberra
4. An opportunity to undertake a short research project on an approved topic
Duration
The Summer Research Scholarships is eight (8) weeks in duration from late November to the end of January (excluding the ANU Christmas closure). Only in exceptional circumstances will the program’s dates be changed.

The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) incorporates a number of research active areas and wide variety of research active academics working on various projects on local, national and international significance. The College will have various areas of research opportunities over the summer (non-teaching) period for 20010/11 Summer Research Scholars. Deadline: Applications for the 2010/202011 Summer Research Scholarships program will open 1 August 2010 and close 31 August 2010.
