“The Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund was established by the Will of Dolores Zohrab Liebmann. Mrs. Liebmann was the daughter of a prominent

Armenian intellectual, writer and statesman and was married to one of the owners of a successful American business. She supported studentsand educational and charitable organizations during her lifetime. Mrs. Liebmann’s primary concern, as expressed in her Will, was to attractand support students with outstanding character and ability who hold promise for achievement and distinction in their chosen fields ofstudy. The trustees welcome applications from students of all national origins who are United States citizens.”Awards
• Fellowship covers tuition and provides a living stipend
• Fellows may apply for renewal each year, for a total of up to three years of support.
Eligibility
• U.S. citizenship
• Current enrollment in a Berkeley graduate program [“any recognized field of study in the humanities, social services, or natural sciences

(including law, medicine, engineering, architecture or other formal professional training)”]
• Demonstrated need for financial assistance
• Outstanding undergraduate record
• Baccalaureate degree
• Study must be completed entirely within the United States
• “(a) If the Candidate or the institution supports, advocates or upholds the principles and doctrines of Communism, the Trustee reservesthe right to reject the application. (b) The Trustee also reserves the right to require the Candidate to submit an affidavit, affirmed orsworn to before a Notary Public, confirming that he or she does not support, advocate or uphold the principles and doctrines of Communism.”
