ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EUROPEAN MASTERS COURSES – 2009

Erasmus Mundus programme for European Masters courses, 2009

The Erasmus Mundus programme supports high-quality European Masters Courses, by providing attractive grants for students having excellent academic results from around the world to engage in postgraduate study at EMARO institutions.

Eligibility

EMARO Masters programme will have about 8 Erasmus Mundus scholarships for

  •  non-EU students who did not had a stay in an EU-country for more than one year over the last five years (called category A students).
  •  Owing to the limited number of grants a student which is not rank among the top 10% of his class has small chance to be selected. The selected student, will receive a grant of totally 24 000€ per year.

Application
The application to an Erasmus Mundus scholarship is done through the classical student’s application procedure of EMARO. Please note that the number of applications by third country students must be limited to three Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses maximum. In the eventual case that a student applies to more than three EM Courses he/she will be excluded from the selection for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

A proposal to Erasmus Mundus programme in Brussels must be sent on January 2010 and consists of a main list and a waiting list. At most two students from the same country can be selected in the main list. The final decision about the scholarships will be sent to students as soon as we receive it from Brussels (end of February). If some students withdraw from the main list, the best students from the waiting list will be upgraded to the main list and will be notified immediately.

Important dates

The application for Erasmus Mundus Grants for the academic year 2010-2011 will be opened from 15 October 2009 till 15 December 2009.

Definition:
Category A scholarships can be awarded to masters students selected by EMARO consortium who are not from Europe Union states, Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein, Turkey, Switzerland, Western Balkan Countries include Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries.
