Post Doctoral Fellowship 2011 for Non-Italian Citizens in National Institute of Nuclear Physics in Italy
About The INFN:
The National Institute of Nuclear Physics – is an organization dedicated to the study of the fundamental constituents of matter, and conducts theoretical and experimental research in the fields of subnuclear, nuclear, and astroparticle physics. Fundamental research in these areas requires the use of cutting-edge technologies and instrumentation, which the INFN develops both in its own laboratories and in collaboration with the world of industry. These activities are conducted in close collaboration with the academic world.
Detail:
The INFN Fellowship Programme 2010/2011 offers 35 (thirtyfive) positions for non Italian citizens for research activity in theoretical (n. 15) or experimental physics (n. 20).
Candidates should choose at least two of the following INFN sites, indicating their order of preference.
- INFN Laboratories:
Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (Roma), Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (L’Aquila), Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro (Padova), Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (Catania);
- INFN Sections in the universities of:
Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, Ferrara, Firenze, Genova, Lecce, Milano, Milano Bicocca, Napoli, Padova, Pavia, Perugia, Pisa, Roma La Sapienza, Roma Tor Vergata, Roma Tre, Torino, Trieste.
The application form requires:
• statement of research interests;
• curriculum vitae;
• three reference letters (specifyng name, surname and e-mail of each referee).
Theoretical fellowships must start from september to december 2011. Requests for starting earlier accepted. Experimental fellowships must start no later than april 2011. Requests to posticipate accepted.
Application Procedure: Applications, in electronic form, must be sent to INFN no later than November 15, 2010.

Tenure: Each fellowship, initially, is granted for one year and then, may be extended for a second year.
