Luary Coon Foundation Scholarships in painting – 2009-10, Auckland University
The Scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled full-time in either the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Fine Arts conjoint degrees at The University of Auckland. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated interest in the tradition of representational painting.
Eligibility
- The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need, general academic achievement and specific evidence of achievement as a painter, preferably in the tradition of representational painting.
- The Scholarship will be awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, presented the best selection of 6 paintings which explore contemporary artistic themes.
- The works must be accompanied by a supporting statement which outlines the ideas and approach taken to the tradition of Painting.

Application by way of a letter and submission of copies of art work closes with the Scholarships Office on 31 August in the year preceding the year of the award.
