Marie D’Albini Scholarship 2009/2010 – The University of Auckland NZ

Scholarship Introduction:
This Scholarship was established from a fund bequeathed to the University under the Will of the late Mrs Shipherd.’For the founding and carrying on of a musical and vocal Scholarship’.

Eligibility for Scholarship:

Applications for the Scholarship shall be in the hands of the Administration Office, School of Music on or before 30 September of the year preceding that in which the award is sought. Each candidate shall be examined in Singing, and the programme shall consist of a recitative and aria from opera or oratorio; a German Lied and a 20th Century English Song. Note: Time allowed for each examination will not normally exceed twenty minutes. (i) Examples of: Recitative and aria from opera and oratorio German Lied English Song (20th century) (ii) Sight-singing and aural test; and of a viva-voce examination.

How to apply:

On receipt of an unfavourable report from the Head of the School of Music on the conduct or progress of a Scholar the Council may suspend or terminate the Scholarship. The Scholarship may not be held concurrently with the Pears-Britten Scholarship in Singing but may be held with any other scholarship, bursary or award if the regulations of that scholarship, bursary or award do not preclude co-tenure.
