Research Training -Vet Pathology 2009 – Department of Veterinary Science, The University of Melbourne
Scholarship Introduction:
An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified applicant interested in pulmonary research to gain an advanced qualification in veterinary pathology. The research involves the investigation of in vivo efficacy of selected inflammatory cell modulators in the treatment of Exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage, a serious and common problem of racehorses. A degree in veterinary science or related biomedical discipline is essential, academic results of at least Honours 2A or equivalent is required, and a degree in veterinary science registerable in Victoria would be an advantage. Experience with horses is desirable but not essential. The project could be undertaken either full or part-time, and the project is fully funded for a Masters by research in the first instance, but conversion to a PhD may be possible.
