Simpson Grierson Law Scholarships 2009 (Auckland University) NZ for the student of Law

Scholarship Introduction:
These Scholarships were established in 2003 by Simpson Grierson.
To assist students studying for LLB degrees to complete their studies and gain work experience.

Eligibility for Scholarship:
Application forms are available from the Scholarships Office, The University of Auckland and Simpson Grierson www.simpsongrierson.co.nz. Applications close on 1 September in the year preceding the award.

How to apply:
The University of Auckland Council has the power to terminate or suspend a Scholarship, if it receives an unsatisfactory report on the progress of a Scholar from the Head of the Department in which the student is enrolled.
• Simpson Grierson is one of New Zealand’s leading commercial law practices, providing legal and business advice to companies and local authorities for more than a century.
• It is anticipated that the successful Scholars will work as Summer Clerks at Simpson Grierson, and to this end the firm will offer each Scholar employment as a Summer Clerk in Auckland at the end of the year in which the emolument is paid. Recipients will also have the possibility of obtaining full-time graduate employment.
• The University of Auckland is not obliged to make an award if in any year there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
• The University of Auckland has power to amend or vary these Regulations, in consultation with Simpson Grierson, provided there is no departure from the main purpose of the Scholarships.
