			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Scholarship for Women 2010-Australia Charles Darwin University</strong></p>
<p><strong>Scholarship Introduction:</strong><br />
The Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Government, through the Office of Women’s<br />
Policy, has coordinated with Charles Darwin University Foundation to fund the Chief<br />
Minister’s Study Scholarship for Women. Three Scholarships will be granted each year, one<br />
Higher Education and two for Vocational Education and Training (VET).<br />
The Chief Minister’s Study Scholarship for Women offers support to Territory women who wish to<br />
undertake education and training at either Charles Darwin University (CDU) or Batchelor Institute of<br />
Indigenous Tertiary Education (BIITE). The Scholarship specifically aims to assist women from within<br />
the Northern Territory who undertake study to enhance their employment and general life outcomes.</p>
<p><strong>Scholarship Eligibility:</strong><span id="more-4041"></span><br />
The successful women will:</p>
<ul>
<li> Be enrolled to study full time or part time at CDU or BIITE for a Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma;</li>
<li>Be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident;</li>
<li> Be a resident of the Northern Territory for a minimum of 12 months;</li>
<li> Demonstrate a commitment to the Northern Territory and intention to use her qualifications and skills in the Territory;</li>
<li>Be able to demonstrate economic, social, cultural or geographic disadvantage; and</li>
<li> Be assessed on a short biography detailing;                                                                                                                                          (i) Background (the panel is interested in your personal situation);                                                                                           (ii) The reasons why you are applying for the scholarship;                                                                                                          (iii) Why you have chosen the course of study, including how you consider the study to be relevant to the needs of the Northern Territory;                                                                                                                                                                           (iv) Your future plans after the course is completed.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>How to apply:</strong><br />
Before you begin your Application, read the Scholarship Information Sheet carefully to<br />
ensure that you meet and address the eligibility criteria for each scholarship you are<br />
applying for. Scholarship Information Sheets can be found at<br />
