			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Vienna Graduate School of Finance (VGSF) is a center of excellence in finance, located in Vienna, Austria. Its main activities are academic research and PhD education. VGSF faculty members are very well connected within the international finance community. The VGSF offers a stimulating learning and research environment plus financial support to outstanding students from around the world. VGSF graduates can look forward to a rewarding career at leading academic institutions.</p>
<p>The Vienna Graduate School of Finance (VGSF) offers up to six scholarships for the PhD in Finance program for the academic year 2009-10. The program is open for students from all countries with all academic specializations, provided they hold a Master degree or equivalent and have sufficient level of formal training. Students who are going to graduate soon (till June 2009) may apply, too. To participate in the selection process a candidate’s application must be received by January 7, 2009 (Online Application).<span id="more-717"></span></p>
<p>The VGSF is a center of excellence in finance, located in Vienna, Austria. The VGSF’s main activities are academic research and PhD education. The VGSF offers a stimulating learning and research environment to outstanding students from around the world. VGSF graduates can look forward to a rewarding career at leading academic institutions.</p>
<p>The VGSF PhD program in finance consists of two parts: rigorous coursework and work on the PhD thesis. The students attend courses covering all major topics in finance and analytical methods required for research. In particular, the courses focus on Corporate Finance, Asset Pricing and Quantitative Methods in Finance. In the academic year 2008-09 students have the chance to attend VGSF courses taught by international scholars such as Tomas Björk, Christopher Hennessy, David Lando, Jacob Sagi, Rossen Valkanov, Jiang Wang and Toni Whited.</p>
<p>After passing the required exams, students start to conduct research projects of their own. In our weekly research seminar the students have the opportunity to meet internationally renowned scholars presenting their state-of-the-art research.</p>

<p>Knowledge Matters, the maker of Virtual Business simulations, is pleased to announce the annual Virtual Business Scholarship for high school business, marketing and personal finance students currently enrolled in their junior and senior years of high school throughout the United States.</p>
<p>This scholarship is intended to help eligible applicants defray the costs of their continuing education. The scholarship amount is $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place.</p>
<p><strong>Eligibility:</strong> To be eligible for nomination by their teachers, students must exhibit excellence in business, marketing or personal finance classes and show interest and accomplishment in the use of technologies in these subjects. <span id="more-680"></span></p>
