Talisman Vietnam Postgraduate Scholarship 2009 – Talisman Energy Inc. for MBA education
Scholarship Introduction:
Talisman Energy Inc. is an independent upstream oil and gas company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Talisman has operations in Canada and its subsidiaries operate in the UK, Norway, Southeast Asia, North Africa and the United States. Talisman subsidiaries are also active in a number of other international areas. Eligibility for Scholarship:
• display intellectual ability and leadership potential;
• provide written evidence of an adequate English Language standard – IELTS band score 6.5 (with not less than 6.0 in any skill) or paper based TOEFL minimum score of 580 (paper-based) or a total score of 100 with a score of at least 20 on each of the individual skill areas (internet-based).
• If you apply for MBA degree, in addition to the English Language skills evidence above, you need to provide either GMAT score minimum 600 (paper-based) or 100 (internet-based) with at least 20 on each of the individual skill area or GRE 1100 total (verbal 450 and quantitative 650)
How to apply:
Candidates, wishing to be considered for the scholarship need to get two separate applications 1) admission to the U of A 2) competition for the scholarship. As such, candidates should go through an application process as described below:
Completed application, marked “APPLICATION FOR TALISMAN VIETNAM POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP” should be sent, no later then September 30, 2009 to the following address.
First, you should send the following documents to the address indicated at the end of the guidelines by September 30, 2009 for support of the University application fee:
• Written evidence of an adequate English Language standard – IELTS band score 6.5 (with not less than 6.0 in any skill) or paper based TOEFL minimum score of 580 (paper-based) or a total score of 100 with a score of at least 20 on each of the individual skill areas (internet-based).
• Written evidence of English Language standard and GMAT score minimum 550 or GRE 1100 total (verbal 450 and quantitative 650) if you apply for MBA degree
• Notarized English translation of university transcripts
• Notarized copy of birth certificate
• Copy of identity card or passport
• Your up-to-date CV summarizing your qualifications and work experience

Important Dates:
• Sept. 30, 2009: Deadline for receiving application
• Oct. 31, 2009: Notice to students who have been shortlisted for application fee
• Nov. 1, 2009 – February 28, 2010: Students to apply for university admission, deadlines vary by dept.
• March 30, 2010: Notice to students selected for interview
• April, 2010: Interview and announcement of final winners
• August, 2010: Departure for Canada
